Match Play

The largest weekly tennis comp in the region

Hotshots Match Play is a fun and social way for kids to build tournament confidence and learn the rules and etiquette required to play in Tennis Australia ACT League's.  We run 4 levels of competition and will assess the best level for your child based on their age and ability.

Our coaches supervise matches closely and help students with:
* Technique advice;
* Court positioning;
* Scoring and rules;

* Tactical play; and
* Sportsmanship.

The competition runs for 9 weeks and is $120
Mid-term enrollments welcome and the term fee will be pro-rated.

First and second place medals every week!
We use unique matchplay software developed by one of our talented "Math's Wiz" coaches. The software ranks players according to their current ability and rewards students who have made the most improvement since the previous week with first and second place medals!

This system gives everyone a chance to win a medal and encourages all players to improve each week (not just win the match).
Open to all players in the region
You don't have to be a Parkside Tennis student to participate.

5 great reasons to enrol in Matchplay

Image description
1. Stay active on Friday afternoons
Australian guidelines recommend children are active for at least 60 minutes and have less than 2 hours of screen time each day. Hotshots is a perfect opportunity to get out and be active!

2. Improve your tennis
Attending Hotshots each week will significantly improve your child’s tennis skills by allowing them to practise what they have learnt in class and build on their skills.
3.
Creates new tennis goals for your child
Playing in competition helps your child identify skills they need to improve on during their coaching class and assists the coaches set and achieve new tennis goals for them.

4. Learn how to compete
Parkside Tennis Academy values competing hard for every point, enjoying winning and being gracious in defeat while trying to learn something from the experience. Winning and losing can bring up strong emotions for kids and it’s something that is good for them to experience in a friendly supportive environment.
5. Value for money

We strongly believe in the benefits kids get from playing in our social Hotshots competition so we discount the price of the program to encourage more kids to get involved and learn the tactical and strategic elements of playing tennis matches.
