ACTIVATE (8-9 years ORANGE BALL)

In our ACTIVATE program players start to use a variety of spins and footwork patterns. Players become aware of strategy and begin to learn about attacking and defensive play.

In ACTIVATE players will learn to:

• Apply the fundamentals of correct technique
• Achieve a consistent hitting zone on ground strokes
• Perform a consistent ball toss and serve
• Rally with a partner using forehands and backhands
• Have the ability to vary the height, spin and direction of the ball​
• Perform a volley and overhead smash
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship.

ACTIVATE program summary

• 1 hour class​
• 9 week term with 1 week for make up lessons
• Average 6-8 pupils per coach
• Modified equipment used (3/4 court, orange 50% compression balls)​
• A fun and encouraging program 
• All players receive a progress report card at the end of term
• Includes ACTIVATE squads by invitation for advanced players
