Match Play is a whole new level of tennis fun
Hotshots Match Play is a fun and social way for kids to get into tennis or build on the skills they are learning in class. The use of low compression balls, smaller racquets and modified courts makes learning tennis easy for small bodies and we have four stages - Red, Orange, Green and Yellow that kids can progress through at their own pace. Kids who become involved in Match Play will learn the basics of tennis matchplay including scoring.
Your child needs to be enrolled in one of our weekly classes to play in our Matchplay program.
5 great reasons to enrol in Matchplay
1. Stay active on Friday afternoons
Australian guidelines recommend children are active for at least 60 minutes and have less than 2 hours of screen time each day. Hotshots is a perfect opportunity to get out and be active!
2. Improve your tennis
Attending Hotshots each week will significantly improve your child’s tennis skills by allowing them to practise what they have learnt in class and build on their skills.
3. Creates new tennis goals for your child
Playing in competition helps your child identify skills they need to improve on during their coaching class and assists the coaches set and achieve new tennis goals for them.
4. Learn how to compete
Parkside Tennis Academy values competing hard for every point, enjoying winning and being gracious in defeat while trying to learn something from the experience. Winning and losing can bring up strong emotions for kids and it’s something that is good for them to experience in a friendly supportive environment.
5. Value for money
We strongly believe in the benefits kids get from playing in our social Hotshots competition so we discount the price of the program to encourage more kids to get involved and learn the tactical and strategic elements of playing tennis matches.
